UV Flashlights in Kenya: Checking Banknotes, Finding Leaks & Spotting Scorpions
A UV flashlight does more than glow: check banknotes, find coolant and AC leaks, spot scorpions and reveal pet stains. A practical Kenyan guide.
365nm or 395nm, which do you need
Shorter wavelength (365nm) fluoresces more materials and is what most currency-checking and professional inspection tools use. 395nm is brighter to the eye and works well for household pet-stain and scorpion detection. If you're not sure, 365nm is the safer general-purpose choice.
What to check before you buy
LED count affects coverage area, useful if you're scanning a larger surface such as a carpet or wall. Rechargeable models save you from replacing disposable batteries on a light you may only use occasionally.
