A lot of budget chargers physically can't accommodate a protected 21700 or 26650 cell, since the extra safety circuit built into a protected cell adds just enough length that the battery simply won't fit or seat properly in a slot sized only for bare, unprotected cells. The VC4SL is specifically sized to fit them, protected 21700 and 26650 included, alongside standard Li-ion cells from 10440 upward and NiMH AA/AAA, four bays running at once over USB-C with QC3.0 fast charging reaching up to 3A.
That protected-cell compatibility matters more than it might first seem: buyers who deliberately choose protected cells for the added safety margin, particularly for higher-drain devices, often discover only after buying a charger that it physically rejects the very cells they picked for safety reasons.
